Aliens: Armageddon is a 2014 light gun shooter arcade game developed by Play Mechanix and published by Raw Thrills. Set during a full-scale Xenomorph outbreak on Earth, the game puts players in a frantic on-rails firefight through apocalyptic city zones as humanity attempts to reach the Ark—a deep space cargo ship— and escape the planet.
Aliens: Armageddon plays in a fast-paced, on-rails light gun format. Throughout the campaign, players pick up special weapons and grenades at scripted moments. Grenades are thrown normally, while special weapons can be reloaded but are often replaced back to the standard assault rifle during scripted sequences, keeping the action moving between set-pieces.
The cabinet was designed as a showpiece arcade experience, built around four frantic levels of nonstop shooting action and a steady stream of new Xenomorph enemies.
When the research vessel Capella is overrun by Xenomorphs, a crew member triggers the ship’s self-destruct moments before being killed. The wreckage rains down over Earth, spreading a Xenomorph plague and triggering apocalyptic devastation. With civilization collapsing, humanity’s last hope is to fight their way to the Ark—a deep space cargo ship—and leave Earth behind.
