Aliens: Infestation is a side-scrolling action game developed by WayForward Technologies and published by Sega for the Nintendo DS. Set within the expanded Aliens universe, the game blends classic run-and-gun gameplay with modern narrative design and squad-based mechanics.
When a distress signal is detected coming from the starship Sulaco, a Colonial Marine task force is dispatched to investigate. What begins as a routine mission quickly descends into chaos as Xenomorph infestations overrun ships, stations, and distant colonies.
Players command a rotating squad of up to 20 Colonial Marines, each with unique personalities, dialogue and combat traits. Death is permanent — fallen marines are lost forever, and replacements inherit the mission as the story adapts dynamically based on who survives.
Gameplay combines intense firefights with exploration, stealth operations, timed rescue objectives and large-scale hive assaults. Iconic weapons and tools such as motion trackers, pulse rifles and flamethrowers are faithfully recreated from the films.
Upon release, Aliens: Infestation was widely praised for its atmosphere, retro-inspired visuals, and surprisingly strong narrative execution, and is now regarded as one of the standout licensed Aliens games.
